How to Let Your Congregation Follow the Sermon on Their Phones — with One QR Code

Walk into a multilingual church on a Sunday and you'll see the problem instantly: the slides are in English, half the room thinks in Tamil or Spanish or Korean, and the people who most need the words are the ones squinting at a screen they can't fully read. Printed translations are a week of volunteer work. A second projector is money and wall space most churches don't have.

There's a simpler answer: everyone in the room is already holding a screen. Scribedeck's follow-along puts one QR code on your projector — anyone who scans it sees every slide on their own phone, live, in the language they choose.

How it works, from the pew's point of view

1. The presenter taps one button and a QR code appears on the big screen.
2. A member points their phone camera at it. No app store, no download — it opens in the phone's browser.
3. They pick their language once (16 to choose from, remembered for next time).
4. Every slide now appears on their phone the moment the presenter advances — points translated live, and Bible verses shown in a real published translation for that language (Reina-Valera for Spanish, for example), not machine-translated scripture.

When the preacher draws on a slide to circle a word, the ink shows up on every phone too. When they share a link — the giving page, event signup — it lands on every phone as a tappable button.

What the person following along can do

• Read every slide in their own language, at their own reading size, in their own hands.
• Open My Notes and jot down what stands out — notes stay private to them, saved to a free personal account.
• Save the whole presentation to look at later, when the church allows downloads.

Setting it up as the church

There's nothing to set up. Follow-along is built into every Scribedeck Live session: make your slides (upload your sermon notes, or build a full order of service with songs), press Present live, and the QR button is on your presenter bar. The same deck drives the projector, the stage display, and every phone — they can't drift out of sync because they're all the same live session.

It works on any phone with a camera and a browser, which today means effectively every phone in your congregation — including visitors who've never heard of your church's app, because there is no app.
